A New Pair of Shoes

So, now that baby is trying to walk (she'll walk along with you now, just holding on with one hand) I decided I needed to get her some real shoes with some support. I had a $25 gift certificate that our Auxiliary ladies got Brooklyn when she was born for our local clothing store here in town. So I ran down there after work yesterday and bought her a little pair of Sketchers. They are so cute. So here are some pictures from this morning with her wearing them. The dressed pictures are from this morning, the naked pictures are from Saturday. Saturday she figured out how to sit on her little car and make it go with her feet, and also how to walk behind it without falling on her face.
As a side note...you might have noticed that Brooklyn is naked except for her diaper in about 90% of the pictures I take of her...She gets hot really easy (she obviously takes after her dad on that one!), and it is really hot here (even with central air in our house), so I usually just strip her down to her diaper when we get home. She does get dressed to go out of the house...most of the time anyways :)
Now for a little story. I called Kerry the other day, and she said Missy was crawling around naked. So I asked her if she was afraid of Missy peeing on the carpet. She said it didn't happen. So the other day, I decided I would be brave and let Brooklyn crawl around naked, so her little bottom could air out a little bit. I set her in her room to play and she crawled after me (as usual), but got interested in the vacuum sitting in the hall outside her room (as usual), so she sat and played with the wheel on that for a minute. Pretty soon she got bored and crawled on to something else. That is when I noticed the big wet spot on the carpet where she had been sitting. So I got a paper towel and soaked up her 'accident', and then went to get something in her room. Walking across the carpet in her room (barefoot), I noticed that every other step I took, I landed in a wet puddle. Apparently, she had started peeing about the time she started crawling, leaving a wet trail across the carpet in her room, and then finished her business while she sat and played in the hall. Needless to say, that might be the last time she gets to roam naked. The real bummer is that I just shampooed the carpet a couple of weeks ago!

Cute shoes! But very cute chubby little bare feet too! :) Morgan would probably ask you if you rubbed Brooklyn's nose in her wet spots like you do a puppy.:) That's what he asks me when we have had that same thing happen. :) The joys of parenthood...

I'll add my cute shoes as well. I enjoy checking out your posts every few days. Brooklyn is adorable and when Tenielle is grumpy she loves trying to talk to the baby on the computer screen so it is a nice little break for us both.
